코드 모조2 음질에 대한 리뷰 모음 (Mojo2 Review)

 

아직 모조 2를 직접 만져 보지는 못하고 있는데 해외에는 작년 12월부터 사용해 본 리뷰가 몇 가지 올라오고 있는데요

그중 음질에 대한 평을 2가지 리뷰를 번역/요약해서 공유드립니다

직접 들어 보려면 수입사에서 전파 승인을 받아야 하기에 아직 최소한 두 달 이상은 기다려야 하기에 우선 관심 있으신 분들 참고하세요

We aren’t exaggerating in saying that Chord has advanced the Mojo in pretty much every sonic area. The Mojo’s soundstage has been opened up for the sequel and that extra depth and dimension has been filled with greater resolution that is not only unmistakably present thanks to a big boost in clarity but also more precisely placed. A listen to Ludovico’s Rolling Like A Ball in hi-res is enough to tell us as much; the leading edges of piano notes are crisper without compromising the flow of the piece, while harmonic subtleties are more easily discernible, the differences between the two DACs’ renditions comparable to moving from the fourth row to the front of an audience

모조 2가 거의 모든 음향 영역에서 모조 1에 비해 업그레이드가 있다고 해도 과언이 아닌 것 같습니다. 모조 2는 선명도에서 그전 모조에 비해 한 차원 더 높은 향상을 가져왔고 보다 더 정확하게 자리 잡은 해상도를 보여 줍니다

 

Ludovico의 Rolling Like A Ball을 고해상도로 들어보면 충분히 무슨 말인지 이해할 수 있습니다. 모조 2는 모조1에 비해 보다 청중 앞으로 다가와 연주해 주는 것 같습니다

These refinements help give the Mojo 2 a more neutral, crisper and livelier character than its predecessor, whose presentation ultimately feels comparatively confined and a little coloured. Music has the vividity of a stained glass window here

모조2는 이전 모델보다 더 중립적이고 선명하며 생생한 특성을 보여 줍니다. 음악은 마치 스테인드 글라스 창의 생생함을 보여주는 것 같습니다

1. Sound – General

The Chord Mojo 2 is super clean in its presentation and the background is pitch black and completely noiseless. As such, Mojo 2 with its very high detail retrieval sounds extremely accurate and precise.

모조2는 전면에서 깨끗함뿐만 아니라 매우 깨끗하고 칠흑같이 어둡고 정적이 있는 배경을 가지고 습니다. 따라서 매우 높은 디테일함은 가진 모조 2는 매우 정확하고 정확한 소리를 들려줍니다

(보통 해상도를 이야기할 때 당연히 앞으로 나오는 소리도 중요하지만 그런 소리를 들을 수 있도록 칠흑같이 어둡고 조용한 배경이 꼭 필요합니다, Chord사의 DAC들이 가진 큰 강점 중의 하나입니다)

 

2. Commparisons

① Mojo1 대비

For this chapter we used the USB input on both of the devices, with my Laptop/Roon as source and with the 250Ohm Beyerdynamic DT1990PRO as headphone. Mojo 2 of course has no DSP settings activated (flat).
It’s very obvious here that the new Mojo is more advanced an its technical performance is way better than with the original. Mojo 1 sounds more intimate with a less airy and spacious presentation. The extension (both on top and the bottom), cleanness, note decay and layering on the Mojo 2 are all superior. The level of detail retrieval is higher and Mojo 2 is more natural sounding. Once you’ve heard the Mojo 2, it’s difficult to go back to the Mojo 1 as you will feel you’re missing out. If you then realize how good the original Mojo already was, you realize how great the new Mojo 2 actually is.
Next to the technical superiority, the Mojo 2 also has the Tuning and crossfeed options. But even if you don’t use those the Mojo 2 still is a fully recommended update.

두 장치 모두 USB 입력을 사용하였고 노트북/Roon을 소스로 사용하였고 250 Ohm인 Beyerdynamic사의 DT1990PRO를 헤드폰으로 사용했으며 모조 2의 DSP 설정이 활성화하지 않음

 

여기서 새로운 모조 2가 더 발전되어 기술적 성능이 모조1보다 훨씬 우수하다는 것은 분명한 것 같습니다 확장성(위아래 모두), 깨끗함, 음의 감쇄 등에서 모조2가 모두 우수합니다

 

디테일 표현력 수준이 더 높고 모조2가 더 자연스럽게 들립니다. 일단 모조 2를 듣고 나서 모조 1로 돌아가게 되면 느끼는 역체감으로 다시 돌아가기는 어려울 것 같습니다

기술적 우수성 외에도 모조 2에는 튜닝 및 Crossfeed 옵션도 있습니다. 그러나 그런 기능들을 사용하지 않더라도 모조 2는 업그레이드가 확실합니다

② Hugo2 대비

Just so you know, I am a big fan of the Chord Hugo 2 (who isn’t?). We’re looking at Hugo 2 here without any filter activated.
For me personally, the Hugo 2 still performs at a higher level and the improvements can be mostly found in an even better sense of naturality, spaciousness, extension (both in wide and depth) and precision. The Hugo2 for me also sounds more analogue compared to the super clean and clear Mojo 2. The bass on the Hugo V2 seems to be a bit less in presence and impact, but it does reach down lower than the Mojo 2’s bass, with more sub rumble and presence.

아시다시피 저는 Chord Hugo2의 열렬한 팬입니다(누가 그렇지 않겠습니까?). 여기에서는 필터가 활성화되지 않은 Hugo2를 비교해 보았습니다

개인적으로 Hugo2는 여전히 더 높은 수준의 성능을 발휘하며 자연스러움, 공간감, 확장성(넓고 깊이 모두) 및 정밀도에서 개선된 점을 대부분 알아차릴 수 있습니다

 

나를 위한 Hugo2는 또한 매우 깨끗하고 선명한 모조 2에 비해 더 아날로그적으로 들립니다. Hugo2의 베이스는 존재감과 임팩트가 약간 덜한 것처럼 보이지만 모조 2의 베이스보다 더 저음을 울려 줄 수 있습니다

결론적으로, 모조 2는 모조 1 대비 소리 측면에서 확실한 업그레이드이지만 Hugo2에 비해서는 여전히 한수 아래인 것이 확실한가 봅니다

하지만 Hugo2의 가격이 모조2 가격의 4배를 넘는 점을 감안하면 모조1 대비 모조 2의 경쟁력이 있다는 이야기이고 이제 모조 1의 중고를 찾던 분들은 모조 2를 기다리기만 하면 될 것 같습니다
